Soak the lentils and prunes (separately) overnight in the correct amount of water (see ingredients).
Boil the lentils in the water that was used for soaking them.
Wash the vegetables and cut them up into small bits and add to the lentils with the onions, cloves and bay leaves. Cook for about 35 minutes.
Meanwhile, cook the prunes in the water that was used for soaking for 25-30 minutes. Then add to the lentils.
Season with salt, pepper, thyme, red wine vinegar and sugar.
Add the sausages, briefly heat up and garnish with chopped parsley.
